Making your own ceremonial medicine not only ensures that what you are working with is free from contaminants, toxins, and misaligned energy, but it also gives you the opportunity to infuse your Agua Florida with prayers, and charge it with an intention that is meaningful to you.
In this workshop, we will gain the practical skills for making our own Agua Florida blend, which we will do together, and, more importantly, we’ll practice listening to the plants and hearing the prayers they are offering us right now.
This is both a workshop and a ceremonial gathering. Come ready to learn, to listen, to share, and to create.
Supplies needed:
32 oz Mason jar
4 cups purified or spring water (you will need to boil this during the workshop, so having it ready and heated in a pot on the stove will be helpful)
4 oz organic alcohol, 80 proof or higher — if you can find something made locally with plants grown near you that’s amazing. I use organic Hawaiian sugarcane vodka or an alcohol made from the root of the Ti plant, as an example.
Dried and/or fresh plants to work with. You will not be using all of the plant material, but rather having an assortment from which to make your selections. Check your tea cupboard, spice rack, the plants growing around you, your friends’ gardens, and feel free to purchase any plants or herbs that are speaking to you.
Having some essential oils to optionally work with is nice, but not necessary.
Wood or dried herbs to light — palo santo, sage, rosemary, cedar, etc
